Well peeps just a short blog this week. The big news is we held our Macmillan coffee morning on Friday 18th and raised a magnificent £493. This was due to our very generous boaters, walkers and cyclists who passed through and stopped to purchase cake and coffee so a HUGE thanks to them. I must also thank my fellow lock keepers and their wives for baking such succulent cakes. Special thanks to lockie Jane for providing produce from her allotment that went in a flash, including the courgettes. A Special thanks to volunteer lockkeeper Kevin who wielded the cake slicing knife for 9 hours.

What else happened well one of our new lockies, Vince, successfully completed his RYA helmsman training with out good friends @willowwren.training so at least one of usa rough idea what this boating lark is about.

And finally. A boat came through this week called MAURICE. Last week we had a boat called FARNDON. I need to get these two boats together.

About Me

I have been a volunteer Lock Keeper with the Canal and River Trust for over 5 years now giving out advice where I think it's needed, whether it's taken or not is up to the recipients, and helping when required, again this help is not mandatory. Working at Hillmorton throughout the summer and then Watford through the winter just to keep my hand in. When Im not working on locks you can find me up and down the canal network on my very own 47 foot narrowboat.
